Using Botox & Dysport To Treat Excessive Sweating

Botox and Dysport have been widely used in the aesthetic cosmetics industry to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They are also effectively used for therapeutic purposes to treat a range of conditions including TMJ, migraines and hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) is a medical condition. It is not caused by typical sweat inducing sources such as exercise or heat. The condition affects about 3% of the population.

Botox and Dysport are effective SkinWise Rx treatments for excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis. Sweating is, of course, a normal bodily function, but hyperhidrosis can cause significant discomfort, embarrassment and social and psychological distress for those who suffer from it. Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that is not caused by typical sweat inducing sources such as exercise or heat. The condition affects about 3% of the population.
There are two types of hyperhidrosis: primary and secondary. Primary hyperhidrosis occurs without any underlying medical condition, whereas secondary hyperhidrosis is caused by an underlying medical condition, such as hyperthyroidism, menopause, or diabetes. Botox and Dysport injections are an excellent treatment with documented results that works by blocking the signals that tell the sweat glands to produce sweat, effectively reducing the amount of sweat that is produced.

When used to treat hyperhidrosis, Botox or Dysport are injected into several areas of the affected area, such as the underarms, palms, scalp or feet. The injections are nearly painless, but some patients may experience mild discomfort. The procedure can be performed in the SkinWise Rx clinic and usually takes about 15-30 minutes.

Botox and Dysport injections are not a permanent cure for hyperhidrosis but will typically last for up to several months. The effects will eventually wear off at which time the injections will likely need to be repeated in order to maintain results. Most patients experience a significant reduction in sweating after just one treatment, with some reporting up to a 90% reduction in sweat production. The duration of the effects will also vary depending on the individual and the severity of the condition and in some cases, patients may require more frequent injections to maintain the effects.

Botox & Dysport have decades long track records of being safe and effective for treating hyperhidrosis

Botox and Dysport are safe and effective treatment options for hyperhidrosis, with few side effects and a high degree of patient satisfaction. Most patients find that the results of the treatment are well worth the inconvenience of periodic treatments. They have decades long track records of being safe and effective for treating hyperhidrosis. However, like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects which are typically limited to redness and swelling.

Botox and Dysport injections can provide significant relief for patients suffering from hyperhidrosis. If you are considering Botox injections for hyperhidrosis you can schedule a free, private consultation at SkinWise Rx to discuss the benefits and risks of the treatment with an experienced, educated and ethical medical professional.
